Zoisite Tumblestones
FIND OUT MORE ABOUT ZOISITE TUMBLESTONES
Zeolites are a family of Hydrous microporous Aluminosilicate minerals with varying chemical compositions, making it difficult to give a clear hardness on the Mohs scale, however many are very soft. Colours are due to trace elements within the stones. As of 2018, it is believed that there may be at least 40 known naturally occurring Zeolites in the world.
Zeolites have long been used industrially as absorbents and catalysts. In nuclear waste, they are important for absorbing certain proportions of radioactive waste, during nuclear decay and fission. They are also capable of storing solar energy and absorbing refrigeration, as they are able to hydrate and dehydrate under pressure and heat. Their biggest use, chemically, is as a detergent, often found as an ingredient in washing powder, they absorb stains and act as a cleaning agent.
Zeolite minerals are often beneficial crystals to have in one's collection as they are highly protective, good for energy-storage and for clearing of anything unwanted.
