Fluorite Tumblestones
FIND OUT MORE ABOUT FLUORITE TUMBLESTONES
Fluorite is Calcium Fluoride with a hardness of 4 on the MOHs scale, the differences in colour being due to trace elements within the crystals. This cubic mineral often forms into octahedral crystals. It does not like being cleansed in salt or salt water, which will dissolve the surface of the stone and dull its beautiful colour.
Fluorites are probably one of the most beautiful and colourful stones on planet Earth, bu they are extremely fragile and will readily crack along a fault-line within the crystal if dropped. Most are fluorescent in ultra-violet light, an it is believed this fluorescence is what makes Fluorites such a powerful healer against infections, colds and influenzas. If you're lucky, you may find a fluorite that contains Scolecite, which looks like a white wing or feather within the stones. These are known as Angel Fluorites.
